At Myriad, little singers thrive in our Level 1 Mini Singers Ensemble, and pre-teens  gain skills, poise and stage-presence in our Level 2 Singers Ensemble. In this inclusive environment, multiple musical styles are explored, and movement makes everything more fun. Mini Singers and Glee Singers at Myriad is where children connect and find friendships through song!

Are you auditioning for a role in a school production or community theater event? Our Voice Teachers are here to help. Markedly, we’ve helped hundreds of singers over the years prepare for their auditions, giving them the tools to choose the right music, increase their range, sing on pitch, and protect their voice from vocal fatigue. Consequently, Myriad’s Mini Singers and Glee students gain experience, knowledge, confidence and skills to shine at auditions and choral events. Additionally, our Glee classes feature popular contemporary musical theater hits, giving singers the experience they need to thrive in productions within their schools and community theater productions.

Level 1: Mini Singers Ages 5-7

These young singers gain confidence and improved self-esteem through song. Our singers learn how to read music too! For this age group, our skilled Choral Directors alternate seated singing activities with movement activities, creating a dynamic learning environment. We know how important it is to provide an interactive, engaging singing classroom. Consequently, focus and excitement and teamwork is always at the forefront. The sound, polish, and memorization skills these little ones attain throughout the year is remarkable to witness and hear. Markedly, you will be amazed! We are excited about introducing the joy of singing to your child, in this fun, collaborative setting. Let’s help our children stay connected through music during these times!

Level 2: Glee Singers Ages 7-10

Glee Singers continue their vocal foundations with quality selections chosen by our choral conductors. Similarly, these singers also explore Musical Theater songs, plus classic and current pop / folk / rock hits.  In addition, fun, accessible choreography and solo singing opportunities are all part of our performance format. Consequently, these performers really bond with each other while gaining performance confidence through music they truly love.

These enthusiastic singers are:

• Learning all of the same skills as a private voice lesson, in a fun collaborative setting. This is the most motivating way to start voice lessons.
• Excited about singing and LOVE classes
• Developing stage presence and performance poise
• Learning to use their voices in a healthful and natural way, creating a clear tone
• Singing a rich variety of musical styles, including multicultural songs in other languages
• Creating music as team players in a nurturing, dynamic environment
• Developing rhythmic, sight-singing / ear training skills through music theory games
• Understanding how to follow a conductor

Why take a Mini-Singers or Glee class over a private lesson when a child is 10 or younger?

Starting private voice lessons at too young of an age is too strenuous for young vocal cords. Vocal cords are too under developed at this age for private voice exercises. Above all, young singers need to be exposed to a vocal ensemble experience to gain important ear-training, vocal balance and harmonization skills. As a result, young singers making music music together learn how to blend their voice with others. The young singer shares the responsibility of projecting their voice. This protects the child from over-singing. Over-singing, or “belting” is a harmful habit that can take years to reverse. Therefore, getting the right kind of instruction when one is young ensures smoother progress when the singer enters puberty and the vocal cords begin growing.

Winter and Spring Performances

Our young singers perform 2-3 times per year, for family and loved ones. This is a collaborative ‘team’ activity. Consequently, every singer is an important member of the whole team effort.
